Dedicated to improving the Small Munsterlander, committed to the traditional German standard

Kleine Munsterlander Zwinger

v.d. Wildblumen & v.d.Eiseneiche

In 2021 v.d. Wildblumen was established as an official kennel of Kleine Münsterländer-Group North America, and v.d.Eiseneiche’s application was approved in 2024. We are a team, striving to breed exceptional versatile hunting dogs. These dogs are bred true to the original German standards, therefore only proven dogs are eligible to be bred. This, in our experience, is one of the components that makes the KlM stand above the rest.

Von den Wildblumen, owned by Gretchen Zwerlein, and von der Eiseneiche, owned by Nate Czarnota, operate under the same roof. We are partners in life and work, including Iron Oak Dog Co., and our involvement with the KlM.

What drew us to the KlM and the German organization is their strong commitment to bettering the breed through stringent performance, health, temperament, and conformation requirements.

The KlM is the Swiss army knife of dogs. From fur to feathers, in water or on land, in the mountains, woods, prairie or desert, the KlM has the genetics to tackle all of that and then some.

We are dedicated to our puppy buyers. We will do our best to assist them in raising their puppy to be the best it can be and to help them prepare for the JGHV and NAVHDA tests. Although testing is not mandatory for owning a KlM, it is not only helpful to the breeders and the club, it provides specific training goals which will help you stay on track when raising your puppy. Priority will often be given to those who are willing to test their dog in the JGHV system. We strongly encourage all puppy buyers to participate and help us better the breed. Meeting all of the performance, health, temperament and conformation requirements are non-negotiables if you have an interest in breeding.

All puppy buyers will be required to join KlM-GNA prior to picking up their puppy. As the Membership Director for the club I will be able to walk you through the process.

Wildblumen KlMs will be placed only in hunting homes. They are versatile hunting dogs with high prey drive, bred intentionally for both fur and feather, and genetics are impossible to change. Activities such as hiking, camping, and agility can be nice supplements, but they are not suitable replacements for hunting.
